Endurance Clip

Endurance Clip

There are basically 2 variations of this type of clip. The first is similar to the hunter clip where all the hair is clipped except for the legs and saddle patch, except the saddle patch stretches down to the girth area. The longer hair of the saddle patch acts as extra cushioning for long hours and lots of movement under saddle such as endurance riding. The face usually also remains unclipped, but this depends on the preference of the owner.
The second clip is a hybrid between the endurance and the blanket clip. The hair is clipped in a similar way as the endurance clip except that some hair is left on top of the hindquarter. This prevents the hindquarter muscles from getting too cold too quickly and becoming stiff during a long distance ride. This clip is a better choice if you plan on doing endurance rides in areas where the maximum temperature is still very very cold during the day.
